THE ANDY DAWE LEGACY
His Life • His Passions • His Legacy
In Memory of Andrew “Andy” Dawe
Andrew Dawe — Andy to everyone who knew and loved him — was so much more than a name.
He was a husband, best friend, family man, friend, businessman, horseman, football lover, Arsenal supporter and someone who lived life with passion.
Andy and I shared 34 years of life together. We met when I was working in management at Kensey Foods and Andy was working in Production. We first met on a bus on the way to a nightclub — where his cheeky personality and sense of humour quickly caught my attention.
After meeting again at a wedding following my holiday, our relationship grew quickly. Those first moments became 34 years of memories, laughter, challenges, adventures, horses, dogs, businesses, family and friendship.
Andy worked hard and played hard. He loved football and Arsenal, golf, horses and dogs. He was fiercely loyal to his friends and family and had a personality that could fill a room.
He could make people laugh, drive you absolutely mad, and somehow do both at the same time.
But above everything, Andy was loved.
Goodbye Fly’s & Andy.
Goodbye Fly’s was also a HUGE part of the life Andy and I built together.
What started with a simple idea around caring for horses developed into something we became incredibly passionate about.
Our philosophy has always been simple: Horse First. Always. Our products were developed because we wanted to create effective, practical and responsible products that could help horses while respecting their skin, coat and wellbeing. Whilst Protecting your horses skin and Coat. Andy was part of that journey. The horses, the products, the ideas, the businesses and the dreams were all part of our shared life. Although Goodbye Fly’s continues without Andy physically beside me, his memory remains part of its story. I am determined to continue building what we created and to use the business, where possible, to create something positive from something incredibly painful.
The Andy Dawe Legacy
After losing Andy in April 2026, I found myself asking a very difficult question: How do I keep his memory alive? I didn’t want Andy’s story to end with his death. I wanted to take the things he loved, the people he cared about and the values he lived by — and turn them into something that could help others. And so, The Andy Dawe Legacy was born. Our fundraising is about taking something Andy loved and using it to make a difference.
Football. Sport. Horses. Young People. Mental Health.
These are all things that formed part of Andy’s life. And they are now becoming part of his legacy.
YOU ARE NOT ALONE
One of the most important parts of Andy’s Legacy is supporting mental health. The words:
YOU ARE NOT ALONE
Support is always here. You matter, have become incredibly important to me. No matter how dark life feels, nobody should feel that they have to face it completely alone.
Goodbye Fly’s has already supported the British Eventing Support Trust’s 24/7 mental-health helpline, and the first 500 “YOU ARE NOT ALONE” Glow in the dark wristbands, created in memory of Andy, are now being Launched Osberton International Horse Trials. The wristbands carry Andy’s name because we want his memory to help spread a message that could potentially reach someone at a moment when they need it most. A simple message can sometimes mean more than we realise. Continuing Andy’s Love of Sport. Andy absolutely loved sport. Football and golf were his great passions, with Arsenal holding a particularly special place in his heart.
He sponsored the Arsenal v Plymouth Argyle Matchball Package at Emirates Stadium on 3 January 2009, and Arsenal remained a huge part of his life. Through The Andy Dawe Legacy, we want to build on that passion and support causes connected with sport and young people. Our fundraising plans include supporting The Arsenal Foundation and the Asmir Begović Goalkeeping Academy, alongside mental-health support.
The aim isn’t simply to raise money. It is to create a legacy that reflects who Andy was and what he loved.
Why We Are Fundraising?
Andy cannot be brought back. There is no amount of money that can change that. But we can choose what we do with the love, memories and opportunities he left behind.
– We can take something Andy treasured and use it to help somebody else.
– We can help keep the conversation around mental health going.
– We can support young people through sport.
– We can encourage people to speak.
– We can remind someone:
YOU ARE NOT ALONE.
And perhaps, somewhere along the way, Andy’s name will make a difference to someone he never even had the opportunity to meet.
A Legacy Built From Love This isn’t about forgetting Andy. It is about remembering him. It is about remembering the man behind the name.
– The husband.
– The friend.
– The sportsman.
– The horseman.
– The Arsenal supporter.
– The dog lover.
– The businessman.
– The cheeky, funny, loyal man who touched so many lives.
And for me, personally, it is about continuing to put one foot in front of the other and building something positive from the most devastating loss of my life. I will carry Andy with me for the rest of my life.
And through Goodbye Fly’s, through our fundraising and through The Andy Dawe Legacy, I hope his memory can continue to do something good in the world. 34 years of love. A lifetime of memories. A legacy that continues. In memory of Andy Dawe.
❤️ Forever loved. Never forgotten.

🟢 British Eventing Support Trust
YOU ARE NOT ALONE
Mental health support is at the heart of Andy’s Legacy.
The British Eventing Support Trust works to support the mental wellbeing of people within the equestrian community, helping people to access support when they need it.
Goodbye Fly’s has already supported the Trust’s 24/7 mental-health helpline, and the first 500 “YOU ARE NOT ALONE” Glow in the Dark Wristbands , created in memory of Andy, are now Launching at Osberton International Horse Trials October 26.
For us, this is about sending one simple but incredibly important message: You are not alone. Support is always here. You matter. We hope Andy’s name can help encourage people to talk, reach out and seek support.
🔴 The Arsenal Foundation
Continuing Andy’s Love of Arsenal. Football was one of Andy’s greatest passions, and Arsenal held a very special place in his heart. Andy sponsored the Arsenal v Plymouth Argyle Matchball Package at Emirates Stadium on 3 January 2009, creating a treasured piece of Arsenal history and one of many memories connected to his love of the club. The Arsenal Foundation supports young people through sport and education, helping them to develop opportunities and fulfil their potential. Through Andy’s Legacy, we want to connect something Andy loved so deeply — Arsenal and football — with an opportunity to help young people. It is our way of keeping his passion for the game alive while creating something positive in his name.
🧤 Asmir Begović Goalkeeping Academy
Inspiring the Next Generation. Andy loved football and loved sport. The Asmir Begović Goalkeeping Academy focuses on developing young goalkeepers through coaching, education and opportunity, helping young, ambitious and committed players reach their potential. This reflects something that was important throughout Andy’s life — sport, determination, opportunity and helping people develop.
Through The Andy Dawe Legacy, we hope to support opportunities for the next generation and help young people discover the confidence, discipline and enjoyment that sport can bring.
For Andy, football was never simply a game.
It was part of who he was. And this is about helping that passion continue through the next generation. ❤️⚽ Three Causes. One Legacy. Mental Health • Football • Young People
Three different causes, connected by the things Andy loved and the values he lived by.
In memory of Andy Dawe.
❤️ Forever loved. Never forgotten.

Munchkins Miniature Shetland Rescue has been running for just over 5 years. We are a small registered charity 1160509 based in Colyton, East Devon. We help miniature Shetland ponies from many backgrounds, including abuse neglect and abandonment, but also try to help owners who may have died or become too old or ill to look after their ponies.
Pippin came to us nearly 3 years ago with his mum Duffy who was ill with liver disease and their vet said not expected to live the winter. (she is still with us after treating her with liver tonics and milk thistle!) Pippin had been with her for 13 years and had laminitis and a bad skin condition and sweet itch, so it was unlikely that his owners could find anyone to take him on, but they thought when Duffy went they were too old to take on another pony. So they appealed to Munchkins for help.
Pippin has been treated for 2 years with Goodbye Flys and this year his skin is the best it has ever been. We are also using it on our other ponies too some with sweet itch and others with scurfy skin and also our horse with sweet itch too. All of them have a wonderful shine and condition and coats are improving with regular use of Goodbye Flys!
Thank you so much.

Hello everyone!
I hope you’re enjoying this sizzling summer and having lots of fun with your horsey pals. I thought I’d write to introduce myself properly and tell you a bit about the goings on here.
I’m just one of the 20 residents currently at Hoofbeats Sanctuary who are cared for by a small team of dedicated volunteers. This month the flies and midges have been especially bad, but thanks to my kind carers using Goodbye Flys I have been far less itchy – it makes me so grumpy and I get impatient with my field friends if my itchiness is at it’s worst! Of course, even once I’ve had my daily dose of Show Shine I’m still the boss of the herd, but my pals and I can spend our time grooming and playing with one another and less time scratching.
One of my field mates also has sensitive skin. She’s not bothered by the midges like me, but she can spend lots of time rubbing against the trees and leaving funny looking scratch lines down her body due to an allergy. I thought I’d share my secret potion (Goodbye Flys of course!) with Bella and since her bath this month she has been able to spend less time itching and more time grazing with the rest of us. She’s really shiny now and I’ve heard the volunteers calling her beautiful – erm guys, where’s my compliment?!
Thanks for reading about our antics here at Hoofbeats, I’ll catch up with you next month with the latest from me and my friends.
Love from Zippo x
Ferne Animal Sanctuary
Ferne Animal Sanctuary is a charity (Charity number 1164350). We receive no government funding and rely on fundraising through grants and donations. We rescue and re-home animals within a forty mile radius of the sanctuary.
Ferne Animal Sanctuary was founded by the late Nina, Duchess of Hamilton & Brandon at the beginning of the Second World War. Her aim was to provide a temporary refuge for the animals belonging to service men and women who were shipped abroad to fight. Inevitably at the end of the war many owners failed to return to collect their pets and so the story of Ferne Animal Sanctuary began.
75 years later the Sanctuary is still acting as a refuge for animals of all shapes & sizes from across the county and beyond. It is perhaps sad that there is still a need for an organisation like ours and that this need gets greater year on year however we are exceptionally grateful that through generous donations & volunteer support we are still able to fulfil this vital role. We hope the Duchess would approve!
